International moving company
In adverts, anyone with a van can call themselves an international moving company. The difference only shows when something goes wrong seven hundred kilometres from home: the vehicle breaks down, the wardrobe will not fit through the stairwell or the delivery slips by a week. This page is a list of questions worth asking any company before you sign a contract – including us.
Seven things to check before you choose
- A written contract with the addresses, scope of services, price and date. A phone call protects no one.
- Carrier’s liability insurance – ask about the sum insured and what it covers. No answer is a warning sign.
- A VAT invoice – a company that does not issue one usually does not take responsibility for damage either.
- Their own vehicles and crew rather than a random subcontractor found on a freight exchange.
- Back-up on the other side of the border – a warehouse or partner who can help if the delivery gets complicated.
- Membership of an industry organisation with clear standards of work.
- A specific quote with a total price, not a per-kilometre rate with the note “plus extras”.

Why the Frankfurt warehouse matters
A company with only a base in Poland has to drive back with the load or hunt for space in a hurry whenever there is a problem abroad. Our Frankfurt am Main warehouse is located at the junction of the A3, A5 and A66 motorways. If the date for collecting your keys in Germany moves, your belongings wait there safely instead of travelling back and forth across half of Europę.
What FEDEMAC is
FEDEMAC brings together relocation companies from many European countries. Membership means a commitment to certain standards of service, and in practice gives us access to trusted partners in countries we do not serve with our own vehicles. As a result, when you move to another continent, you have one contract and one contact person.
Signs that you should look for another company
A price without seeing anything
A figure given after a one-sentence description, with no questions about the floor, the lift or the list of furniture, will almost always grow on loading day.
A deposit to a personal account
Paying in advance without a contract or invoice into a private individual’s account is a risk that makes no sense to take.
No company address
A phone number and a profile on a classifieds site do not tell you who will be responsible for a damaged chest of drawers.
Questions about choosing an international moving company
Can I see the contract before booking?
Yes. On request, we send a sample contract together with the quote, so you can read the terms at your leisure before signing anything.
Who carries out the move – your crew or a subcontractor?
We carry out moves within Europę with our own vehicles and our own people. We bring in partners from the FEDEMAC network mainly for container transport outside Europę.
What happens if something is damaged?
You report the damage at unloading and we record it in the documents. We handle it in accordance with the contract and the liability insurance.
Do you work with companies relocating employees abroad?
Yes. We settle directly with the employer and issue the invoice to the company. Details on the employee relocation page.
Comparing offers from several companies?
Send us an enquiry – you will receive a quote with the full scope of services that is easy to compare with others.
