Moving in Lubań
Lubań lies on the Kwisą river, at the western edge of Lower Silesia, not far from the German border. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Lusatian League of Six Towns, together with nearby Görlitz, which can still be seen today in the layout of the old town with its towers and fragments of the walls. For us, moving in Lubań means jobs from the furthest part of the province – they require a precise plan for the day, but thanks to our regular trips to Germany they fit well into our routes.
West from Wrocław: about 160 kilometres
We drive to Lubań on the A4 motorway towards Zgorzelec, then south on local roads after the exit. The whole route is about 160 kilometres and roughly two hours' driving. A distance like this changes the way we plan. We move a flat in one day only if everything has been packed beforehand and the crew can start loading first thing in the morning. A house or full packing is spread over two days: on the first we pack and load, on the second we drive and unload.
Tenements, blocks and houses by the river
Old town
Tenements on the market square and within the old walls. High ceilings, steep stairs and streets where you have to leave room for others to pass.
Housing estates
Communist-era blocks, mostly without lifts. For higher floors we add a person to the crew so the job doesn't take longer.
Houses in the Kwisą valley
Houses on the outskirts and in the villages of Lubań municipality. Access can be narrow, and near the river there are boggy plots a large vehicle can't drive onto.
Border country: moving to Germany
The border is a few dozen kilometres from Lubań, and many residents work on the other side or are planning to move there. EU countries don't require customs clearance for household goods, but you need to remember the formalities after arrival, such as registering your address or re-registering your car. We take care of packing, transport and – if your new flat isn't free yet – storing your belongings in our Frankfurt am Main warehouse. We describe the details in our international moving section.
Or the other way – to Wrocław
Just as often, we move families from Lubań to Wrocław, where their children study or work. If you're waiting for the keys to a new flat in the city, your belongings can wait in our warehouse in Wrocław, and we'll deliver them on the day you choose.
How to prepare for a long-distance move
- List your furniture in our volume calculator – with two hours' driving each way, an extra trip is expensive.
- Decide what you'll pack yourself and what you'll leave to the crew, and finish packing the day before.
- Reserve a parking space at both the old and the new address.
- Give away anything that isn't coming with you, or have us remove it before moving day.
For every job we sign a contract and issue a VAT invoice. Our business is covered by third-party liability insurance up to PLN 500,000, and we transport only with our own vehicles.
