Moving in Kamienna Góra

Kamienna Góra lies in the Bóbr valley, surrounded by ranges of the Sudetes – from the Rudawy Janowickie to the Stone Mountains. A few kilometres away stands the Baroque abbey in Krzeszów, and the Czech border is close by. The town has a textile tradition and buildings scattered across the slopes. The route to Kamienna Góra

Kamienna Góra is about 100 kilometres from Wrocław. We leave on the A4 motorway, continue towards Bolków and head south along the Bóbr valley. The drive usually takes an hour and a half, and the final stretch runs through mountainous terrain. In winter, conditions on the climbs change quickly, so in months with snowfall we agree a backup date with the customer in case of bad weather.

Steep outside the house – how we work in the mountains

Some estates and houses in Kamienna Góra stand higher than the centre, on noticeably sloping streets. We park the vehicle where it can be safely secured with wheel chocks, and load the cargo area starting with the heaviest items. We carry furniture on lifting straps, and fridges and washing machines on stair-climbing trolleys. In houses on slopes, the entrance is sometimes at first-floor level and the garage on the street below – which often makes loading easier, as long as we know about it in advance.

The Bóbr valley at Kamienna Góra is narrow, so the town's main streets carry through traffic towards Lubawką and the border. At rush hour, driving through the centre takes longer, which is why we start loading in the central parts of town in the morning, before the traffic builds up.

To Wrocław, across Poland and over the border

Residents of Kamienna Góra often move to Wrocław and Jelenia Góra, and more and more people are buying houses here as a place to live away from the city.
