Moving in Sosnowiec

Sosnowiec lies just beyond Katowice, but its residents will quickly remind you that this is no longer Silesia but the Dąbrowa Basin. For a moving crew, this boundary has a practical meaning: to get here from Wrocław, you have to drive through the entire centre of the conurbation. So we plan Sosnowiec–Wrocław moves to avoid traffic jams, and from Sosnowiec we also move people to other cities and abroad.

Via Katowice and the S86

We take the A4 motorway as far as Katowice and then – depending on the time of day – either stay on the A4 towards Mysłowice or take the S86 expressway, which links Katowice with Sosnowiec via the bridge over the Brynica. The route is about 220 km. In ideal conditions that is two and a half hours, but traffic between Katowice and the Dąbrowa Basin at rush hour can make it considerably longer. We leave Wrocław very early to get through the conurbation before the morning rush.

Sosnowiec's large housing estates

Sosnowiec is a city that expanded in the 1970s, when dozens of tall blocks were built for mine and steelworks employees. In Zagórze, Środula and Klimontów there are tower blocks more than ten storeys high and long blocks with many entrances. The lifts are small, and with heavy use, residents are not always keen to wait for the crew to finish unloading. It is worth letting your neighbours know and asking the building management whether the lift can be booked for a few hours.

Campus, hospitals and employee moves

Sosnowiec has faculties of the University of Silesia and several hospitals, so on the route to Wrocław we move many graduates and people changing jobs in healthcare. Before you book a move from Sosnowiec
