Moving in Europe
For 4RELO, moving in Europe is everyday work, not an add-on to local jobs. From our base at Zabrodzie 27 in Wrocław we travel to the west, south and north of the continent – from Dresden, less than three hours’ drive away, to Stockholm, which you have to reach by ferry. On this page you will find an overview of destinations, routes and formal differences worth knowing before you choose your moving date.
Wrocław’s location helps us a great deal. The A4 motorway leads straight to the border at Jędrzychowice, the A18 to the crossing at Olszyna, and the roads via Kłodzko and Lubawka lead onto Czech motorways towards Vienna. Each of these routes opens up a different part of Europe, which is why we plan European moves starting from the map, not the calendar.

These times cover driving only. We add drivers’ breaks, weekend and public holiday restrictions on lorry traffic in each country, and customs office opening hours where clearance is required.
The European Union and countries outside it
European Union countries
We move furniture and personal belongings with no customs duty or customs declarations. Once you arrive, you register your address at your new home and re-register your car in line with local regulations. Border checks are random and require no preparation.
Switzerland, Norway, United Kingdom
Customs clearance of household goods for relocation applies here. You need an inventory of your belongings, a document confirming the change of residence and a declaration at the customs office. We help you prepare the paperwork as part of our customs clearance service.
How we match the transport method to the country
We travel to Germany and the Czech Republic regularly, so a smaller load can join a scheduled run. More distant destinations – France, Spain, the Scandinavian countries – usually require a dedicated vehicle or a load transfer at our Frankfurt am Main warehouse. If your new home is not ready yet, your belongings wait in our warehouse in Wrocław or Frankfurt.

We are a member of FEDEMAC, the European federation of relocation companies. In rare cases where a local crew is the better choice, we work with a partner from this network, while responsibility towards you stays with us. Moving around Europe – questions about destinations
Which European countries do you travel to most often?
Most of our runs go to Germany and the Czech Republic, followed by Austria, Switzerland, France and the Benelux countries. We also cover Scandinavia, Italy and Spain.
Does every country in Europe require different documents?
Within the European Union, transport formalities are minimal – only the address registration rules differ. Countries outside the EU, such as Switzerland or Norway, require an inventory of goods and customs clearance.
Can you move belongings from one European country to another without going through Poland?
Yes. We carry out moves, for example, from Germany to Austria or from the Czech Republic to the Netherlands. The pricing principles are the same as for moves from Wrocław.
How quickly do you deliver to more distant countries?
That depends on the distance, ferries and weekend traffic restrictions. We give you a specific unloading day before loading, with a margin for these factors.
Are my belongings insured abroad?
Yes. We have carrier’s liability insurance of PLN 500,000, and the scope of cover is set out in the contract regardless of the destination country.
