Moving to Prague
Prague is a beautiful city to live in and a difficult city to move into. The cobbled lanes of the Old Town, the steep hills of Vinohrady, access restrictions for heavier vehicles and residents’ parking zones all mean that we plan moves to Prague from the destination address back to Wrocław, not the other way round. First we check how to get to your building, and only then do we choose the vehicle and departure time.
Which way from Wrocław to Prague

Each route is between 280 and 330 kilometres and takes four to five hours by van. The Jakuszyce pass is the highest, and in winter we only choose it in good weather.
Access and parking in Prague
Restrictions for heavier vehicles
Central Prague is closed to lorries above a certain weight without a special permit. For tenement buildings in the Old and New Towns, we usually send smaller vehicles, and with a large load we transfer it to them on the outskirts.
Parking zones
Most central districts have parking zones where on-street spaces are reserved for residents. For the move, you apply to the district office for temporary use of a section of the road.
Hills and cobbles
Vinohrady, Žižkov and Malá Strana have steep streets, often cobbled. Trolleys do not work as well there, so we allow for more hands to carry things.
New estates on the outskirts
In Chodov, Stodůlky or Letňany, access is easy, the buildings have lifts and parking spaces, and unloading takes noticeably less time.
Plan for a move to Prague
We move a typical flat in one day: loading in Wrocław in the morning, arriving in Prague in the early afternoon, after the morning rush on the ring road. For a house, or a flat in the historic centre where belongings have to be transferred to a smaller vehicle, we plan two days. After arriving in Prague
If you are staying in the Czech Republic for more than a month, you report your place of residence to the Prague foreign police department. It is worth applying for a certificate of temporary residence straight away, as Prague banks and estate agents often ask for it.

Can you get to a tenement building in the Old Town?
Yes, but usually with a smaller vehicle. With a large load, we transfer the belongings on the outskirts or bring them in several runs.
Who arranges the reserved space outside the building in Prague?
The application is submitted to the district office. We advise you how many metres of road to reserve and for which hours, so the vehicle can park by the entrance.
How long does a move from Wrocław to Prague take?
A flat with up to three rooms – one day. A house or an address in the very centre that requires reloading – two days.
Do you cover the towns around Prague?
Yes – Černošice, Říčany, Brandýs nad Labem, Beroun and other towns in the Central Bohemian Region.
