Moving to Sydney
Sydney stretches for more than a hundred kilometres – from the Northern Beaches to Penrith at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Delivering to a flat in Bondi is a completely different task from carrying furniture into a house in Parramatta. So we plan moves to Sydney with a specific address in mind. We pack and seal the container in Wrocław, and collection from the port, clearance and local delivery are handled by a partner from the FEDEMAC network.
From Wrocław to Port Botany
Containers for Sydney arrive at Port Botany, south of the city centre, next to the airport. From Europe, ships sail through the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean, most often with transshipment in Singapore or another Asian port. The voyage usually takes six to eight weeks. Before the container is released it must pass customs clearance and biosecurity inspection, which in Australia is applied to household goods shipments particularly often.

A strata apartment or a house with a garden
Strata apartments
In buildings managed by an owners' corporation, you notify the building manager of your move. You need to book the lift, lift wall protection and an unloading spot in the car park. Some buildings require proof of the moving company's insurance.
Suburban houses
In western and northern suburbs such as Parramatta, Castle Hill or Hornsby, the truck parks right outside the house. Watch out for steep driveways and narrow streets on the hills.
Inner-city terraces
Paddington, Surry Hills, Glebe – narrow 19th-century terraces, steep stairs and streets with limited parking. Delivery by a smaller truck, often in several trips.
Beachside suburbs
The eastern suburbs and areas near the beaches have heavy traffic at weekends and in summer. Our partner plans delivery for a weekday, early in the morning.
Before packing for Sydney
- Check your visa type – it determines whether your belongings can enter free of charges.
- Clean bikes, sports shoes, your tent and garden furniture. The inspection at the port will spot soil.
- Do not pack food, spices, herbs or seeds.
- Complete form B534 together with the inventory, which we will prepare in English.
- Ask your Sydney building manager about the moving rules before you fix the delivery day.

Sydney – frequently asked questions
How long does a move from Wrocław to Sydney take?
Usually two to three months from packing to delivery. The most variable parts are the biosecurity inspection and waiting for space on a ship.
Can you deliver to Wollongong or Newcastle?
Yes, our partner also delivers to cities outside Sydney. The delivery cost depends on the distance from Port Botany.
Can the container be parked outside my house in Sydney?
In suburbs with a wide street, sometimes yes. In the city centre and in strata buildings, belongings are taken from the partner's warehouse in a smaller truck.
What if an inspector holds an item?
The item may be cleaned, fumigated or destroyed, with the costs borne by the recipient. Thorough cleaning and description before shipping greatly reduce this risk.
