Moving in Bielsko-Biała

Bielsko-Biała lies at the foot of the Beskid Mountains, and you notice it on every move. Moving in Bielsko-Biała with 4RELO most often means a route from Wrocław to southern Silesia or from Podbeskidzie to Lower Silesia. We drive our own vehicle from our base at Zabrodzie 27, and before setting off we check whether a lorry can get to your house or whether belongings need to be transferred to a smaller vehicle.

Getting from Wrocław to the Beskids

SectionWorth knowing
Wrocław – KatowiceA4 motorway via Opole and Gliwice, about 190 km
Katowice – Bielsko-BiałaS1 expressway via Tychy, about 60 km
Whole routeabout 250 km, usually 2.5–3 hours' drive
In wintersnow and ice on higher streets, sometimes snow chains on the approach

A flat move on this route is usually completed in one day. For houses in the upper parts of the city, we allow more time for unloading, as carrying things uphill on garden steps takes longer than on a flat pavement.

Terrain that changes the moving plan

Mikuszowice, Olszówka, Straconka, Wapienica and Lipnik are districts on the hillsides. The streets there are narrow and winding, and some properties have no room for a large vehicle to turn round. In such places, we send a smaller vehicle or split the transport into two runs. Work looks completely different on the Złote Łany, Karpackie and Beskidzkie estates – here the problem is not the slope, but parking by tall blocks and booking the lift.

Moving in winter

From November to March, we allow extra time. If the driveway to the house hasn't been cleared of snow, unloading may be delayed, so we confirm the conditions on site with you the day before.

Why people move to and from Bielsko-Biała

The city has strong industry, especially automotive, and attracts engineers from all over Poland, including Wrocław. In the other direction, it is mostly students and young families looking for work in a big city. Many jobs are also moves to houses in municipalities near Bielsko – in Jaworze, Bystrą, Szczyrk or Wilkowice – where families build homes with a view of the mountains.

Some customers also move the other way – from Bielsko to the Czech Republic, as the border at Cieszyn is very close. We run trips to the Czech Republic regularly, so such a move is easy to fit into our plans.

What the job includes

  • A pre-move survey via photos or a video call – especially of the access road and outdoor steps.
  • Packing in boxes and film, protecting glassware and electronics.
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly, including fitted kitchens in houses.
  • Transport in one of the 11 vehicles in our fleet, chosen to suit the load and access.
  • Storage of your belongings in our Wrocław warehouse if your house in the Beskids isn't finished yet – details on our storage page.

We put everything in a contract and issue a VAT invoice, and goods in transit are protected by liability insurance of up to PLN 500,000. We are a member of FEDEMAC, the European federation of moving companies.

Questions about moving to Bielsko-Biała

Can you get to a house on a steep street in Mikuszowice or Olszówka?

Yes, but first we assess the access from photos. If a large vehicle won't fit, we move your belongings in a smaller vehicle or in two runs.

How long does a move from Wrocław to Bielsko-Biała take?

The drive alone is 2.5–3 hours. We move a flat in one day, and a hillside house with lots of belongings sometimes in two.

Do you carry out moves in winter?

Yes, all year round. In winter we allow extra time and ask about the state of the driveway the day before.

Do you cover Szczyrk, Bystrą and Czechowice-Dziedzice?

Yes, the whole of Podbeskidzie. The quote depends on access and the volume of belongings, not just the mileage.

How quickly will I know the price?

After you fill in our volume calculator or have a short conversation with us, usually on the same working day.
