Moving in Sopot

Sopot is the smallest of the three Tricity cities, yet one of the most challenging for a moving crew. Historic villas with wooden staircases, apartments overlooking the pier, streets where two cars can barely pass each other. That is why we plan Sopot–Wrocław moves with greater precision than a regular run to a big city – and the route itself is about 490 km.

Villas and apartments – protecting interiors

Many features in Sopot's villas are original: oak parquet floors, carved balustrades, stained-glass windows on the staircase, doors with brass fittings. Beachside apartment buildings, meanwhile, have stone floors in the lobby and mirrored lifts. Before we carry anything out, we lay mats on the floors and cover door frames and the inside of the lift. We move heavy furniture on sliders, never across the parquet.

We pack antiques, paintings and collections separately – in crates, cardboard and foam. If the home includes a grand piano, sculptures or large mirrors, we agree this when quoting, as they require extra people and protection. Goods in transit are covered by our liability insurance of up to PLN 500,000, and the terms are set out in the contract.

The season, tourists and access restrictions

In summer, Sopot lives off tourists. The streets near the beach are jammed, car parks are full from the morning, and events on the pier and nearby bring temporary traffic changes. We advise against planning a move in Lower Sopot for a summer weekend. September, October and winter are when the crew works more efficiently, as they don't lose hours looking for a parking space – and less time on the job means a lower cost.

Residents' associations in historic villas often have their own rules: quiet hours, no blocking the gate, an obligation to notify the building manager of a move. It is worth asking about them a few days in advance. We adjust the start time and the size of the crew so that neighbours don't have to wait to drive out of the property any longer than necessary.

The Wrocław–Sopot route

We drive to the Tricity on the S5 via Poznań and Bydgoszcz and on the A1 motorway, reaching Sopot via the Tricity Bypass and the exit down into town. It is a full day's drive, so we spread the move over two days: loading and the journey, followed by unhurried unloading from the morning. If the dates don't line up, we will store your belongings in our warehouse.
