Long-distance moving from Wrocław
A new job in Warsaw, your child starting university in Kraków, a return to your home town on the coast – there are plenty of reasons, but the problem is the same: an entire flat has to travel several hundred kilometres and arrive complete. We plan long-distance moving from Wrocław differently from moves within the city. What becomes crucial is the departure time, the driver's breaks, rush hour in the destination city and who will be waiting with the keys at the other end.
The most popular destinations from Wrocław
The journey times given are approximate, for a loaded vehicle, without stops for loading and unloading. The actual time depends on traffic and roadworks.
| City | Main route | Approximate journey |
|---|---|---|
| Poznań | S5 | about 2–2.5 hrs |
| Katowice | A4 | about 2–2.5 hrs |
| Łódź | S8 | about 2.5–3 hrs |
| Kraków | A4 | about 3–3.5 hrs |
| Warsaw | S8 | about 4–4.5 hrs |
| Szczecin | A4, S3 | about 4–4.5 hrs |
| Gdańsk | S5, A1 | about 5–5.5 hrs |
| Lublin | S8, S17 | about 5.5–6 hrs |
One day or two
A move to Poznań, Katowice or Łódź is usually completed in one day: loading in Wrocław in the morning, the journey, and unloading in the afternoon. For more distant destinations such as Gdańsk or Lublin, and for large houses, it makes more sense to load the vehicle in the afternoon and plan the unloading for the next morning. The load then stays overnight in the locked vehicle, and the crew starts work well rested, instead of carrying furniture in after dark.
How we organise transport over long distances
A single trip
The whole load travels in one vehicle from door to door, with no reloading at a depot and no mixing with other customers' belongings.
The same crew
The people who load in Wrocław unload in the new city. They know how they stacked the load, so they take it out efficiently and in reverse order.
A fixed date
You know the date and approximate delivery time before departure. On the road, the driver lets you know about any delay.
What to prepare in your destination city
- Someone with the keys on site at the agreed time – especially if you are travelling by train and will arrive later.
- Information about the paid parking zone and where the vehicle can stop.
- A lift booking or the property manager's permission, if the building requires it.
- A floor plan of the flat showing which furniture goes in which room.
In large cities such as Warsaw or Kraków, a delivery vehicle often can't get onto the internal roads of gated housing estates. Ask the building management for the code or a remote control before we leave Wrocław.
What affects the cost of a move to another city
On a long route, kilometres and the driver's time matter more, while minor obstacles during carrying matter less. What counts is the volume of the load, the choice of vehicle, the number of days and the scope of packing. You can estimate the volume in our calculator. If you don't have many belongings and your date is flexible, ask whether we are planning a trip in a similar direction. Moves outside Poland are described on our international moving page, and the full scope of work for a flat under home moving.
Long-distance moving – questions
Will my belongings travel together with other people's loads?
Not as standard – on a long-distance move, the vehicle carries only your load. A shared trip is only possible if agreed with you.
Can I travel with the crew?
We don't take passengers. Instead, we set the delivery time so that you can get there before the vehicle.
Will you transport plants and animals?
Potted plants, yes, if the journey takes one day. We don't transport animals – it is best to take them with you.
How far in advance should I book a move to another city?
Ideally several weeks ahead, because a job like this takes up a vehicle and crew for a whole day or longer.
Does the insurance cover the whole route?
Yes. Our carrier's liability insurance of up to PLN 500,000 applies from loading to unloading.
