Lwówek Śląski is a small town on the Bóbr river with well-preserved sections of medieval defensive walls, a Renaissance town hall and a brewing tradition. It is also known for agates and a summer festival dedicated to gemstones. Getting there: almost two hours' drive

Lwówek is about 120 kilometres from Wrocław. We take the A4 motorway, then local roads through the hilly Bóbr valley – this part of the route runs through villages and bends, so the pace drops noticeably. Over a distance like this, it pays to get your belongings ready in advance: the shorter the loading, the better the chance of completing a flat move in one day.

A removal vehicle can't always stop right by the entrance, and stairwells in old buildings can be cramped and winding. Outside the walls, blocks of flats and detached houses predominate, while in the Bóbr valley and on the surrounding hills there are country houses and smallholdings with large plots.
