How we drive to Częstochowa
From Wrocław to Częstochowa is about 190 km. The shortest route runs along the A4 motorway to Opole, then national road 46 via Dobrodzień and Lubliniec. It is largely a single-carriageway road through villages and towns and busy with lorries, so the drive usually takes 2.5–3 hours. With a large load, we sometimes choose the longer option on the A4 and A1 motorways – more kilometres, but often a smoother journey. We decide on the day of the move, depending on traffic.
A calendar worth keeping in mind
Częstochowa is the only city on our list where the moving date can depend on the pilgrimage calendar. Around 15 and 26 August, and on days of major celebrations at Jasna Góra, the city centre, the Avenue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the streets around the monastery are crowded, and some of them are closed to traffic. If you live in the city centre or near Jasna Góra, we will tell you which days are best avoided.
Estates and housing
Large estates from the 1970s and 1980s
Tysiąclecie, Północ, Rakowska and Wrzosowiak have long blocks, often ten storeys high with a lift or four storeys without one. The lifts can be small, so wardrobes and sofas often go up the stairs.
Tenements in the centre
Around the Avenues and the Old Market Square, there are tenement buildings with carriage gateways and courtyards. Parking on busy streets requires a parking spot to be agreed in advance.
Houses in Lisiniec, Grabówka, Kiedrzyn
Quiet detached housing with good access. Here, clearing the cellar, attic and garage usually takes the most time.

Reasons for moves on the Częstochowa–Wrocław route
Most of our jobs come from students and graduates of the Częstochowa University of Technology and Jan Długosz University who find work in Wrocław after their studies. The second large group is families returning home from Lower Silesia to be closer to their parents. There are also company moves – offices and small plants changing location as they expand.
