Before you book transport – measure
The most common problem when moving a single piece of furniture is not the vehicle but the building. A sofa that fitted in the furniture showroom can get stuck on the turn of a tenement stairwell or in the lift doors of a 1970s tower block. Before booking, check a few measurements and include them in your enquiry.

If the measurements don't add up, it is often enough to remove the legs, the backrest or the doors of the furniture. If even that doesn't help, we will warn you before we arrive, rather than discovering the problem on the third floor.
How the transport works
- We confirm the collection and delivery addresses, floors, lift and measurements.
- We choose a vehicle from our fleet and the number of people to suit the weight of the furniture.
- On site, we protect the furniture as well as the doors and banisters.
- In the vehicle, we strap the load to the side of the load space.
- We carry it in, put it in place and – if needed – reassemble it.
Collecting furniture bought from a private seller
When buying from an advert, you can arrange for us to deal directly with the seller. It is worth confirming beforehand that the furniture has been emptied and is ready to be carried out, and who will be there to show us what we are taking. The transport is documented with a VAT invoice, and the furniture is protected by our liability insurance.
A larger amount of furniture is easier to handle as a home move, and if your furniture needs to wait for a renovation to finish, storage will help.

Will you transport a single piece of furniture?
Yes. For single items, we choose a smaller vehicle and a two-person crew, so the cost is in proportion to the job.
Can you collect furniture from a shop without me being there?
Yes, if the shop will release the goods on the basis of proof of purchase or an authorisation. You only need to be there for the delivery.
Do you assemble furniture after delivery?
Yes, on request. We agree assembly when preparing the quote, because it takes extra time depending on the type of furniture.
What if the sofa won't fit through the door?
First, we try removing any parts that unscrew. If the furniture still won't go through, we don't force it in – we agree another solution with you.
