Moving in Milicz
Milicz lies at the very heart of the Barycz Valley, next to the Milicz Ponds – one of the largest complexes of fish ponds in Europe and a haven for water birds. People move here for the peace, the forests and the space, and most often leave for work or university in Wrocław. We handle moving in Milicz in both directions, as well as within the municipality and to neighbouring Krośnice and Cieszków.
Getting there via Trzebnica
We drive to Milicz on the S5 expressway to Trzebnica, then north on national road 15. It's about 60 kilometres and a little over an hour's drive, depending on traffic leaving Wrocław. The last stretch runs through forests and villages with speed limits, so we give the unloading time with a margin. A flat move from Milicz to Wrocław is still a one-day job.
A house by the ponds is a different kind of move
Many houses around Milicz stand at the end of dirt or forest tracks, by the dykes and on the edges of nature reserves. In spring and autumn such tracks can be soft, and a large vehicle can't get everywhere. That's why, before the move, we ask for a photo of the access road or a short description. If necessary, we come with a smaller vehicle and make two trips instead of one – that works out cheaper than pulling a lorry out of the mud.
Milicz – centre and housing estates
Blocks of flats and tenements near the Maltzan Palace and the town centre. What matters here is the floor, the width of the stairwell and space in the car park.
Barycz Valley villages
Houses with large plots, often with wooden summerhouses, outbuildings and garden equipment to pack.
Holiday homes
Seasonal cottages near the ponds and forests. We move the contents after a sale or before renovation begins.
Agritourism farms
Furniture, bedding, guest room furnishings. We work out of season or on days without guests, so as not to cause disruption.
Protecting belongings on country roads
A few kilometres of uneven cobbles or dirt track can do more harm to furniture than a hundred kilometres of motorway. We wrap wardrobes and chests of drawers in blankets and film, pad glass with cushioning material and strap the load down over the full height of the cargo area. If you prefer, we'll pack only the fragile items and leave the rest to you – we'll bring boxes and tape in advance.
When storage comes in handy
Buying an old house near Milicz and want to renovate it first? The furniture from your current flat can wait in our warehouse in Wrocław, and we'll deliver it when you've finished the work. We describe how storage works on our storage page.
It's worth booking your date well in advance: in autumn, carp harvests take place in the Barycz Valley, the area attracts tourists and traffic on local roads increases.
Milicz – questions before a move
