Moving in Płock

Płock is best known for its refinery and for Cathedral Hill above the Vistula. For a moving crew, something else matters more: the town sits on a high escarpment, divided by the river, with only two bridges leading to the centre. We handle moving in Płock from Wrocław and to Wrocław, as well as between Płock and other towns people leave to work in industry.

How we get from Lower Silesia to Mazovia

Płock is about 350 km from Wrocław. We take the S8 to Piotrków Trybunalski, the A1 motorway north to the Kutno area, and from there national road 60 to Płock. The journey usually takes 4 hours. A two-room flat can be moved in one day if loading starts in the morning, and a larger house in two. The last stretch after Kutno is single-carriageway and runs through villages, which needs to be factored into the plan, especially on a Friday afternoon.

The escarpment, bridges and estates

The Old Town on the escarpment

The streets around the cathedral and the Old Market Square are narrow, winding and partly closed to traffic. Unloading means planning where to park and carrying things a little further.

Podolszyce and Skarpa

Płock’s largest housing estates, with many ten-storey buildings. There are lifts, but they are small, so large furniture often goes up the stairs anyway.

Radziwie across the Vistula

A district on the right bank, linked to the centre by bridges. At rush hour, crossing the bridge can take quite a while.

Borowiczki, Imielnica, Trzepowo

Detached houses on the outskirts and new estates. Easy access, but usually a larger volume of belongings.

Time of day matters in Płock too. When shifts change at the industrial plants, the roads towards the refinery are jammed, so we choose an arrival time that avoids the worst of the traffic.

Industry that draws people in

Płock is one of the most important centres of the petrochemical industry in Poland. Engineers, process specialists and maintenance staff move here from all over the country, including Lower Silesia, and return once their contract ends. Many of these moves are paid for by the employer, so we issue a VAT invoice to the company and fit the date to the start of the new job. We also relocate entire offices and departments – more on the office relocation page.

Moving for a shorter contract

If you are going to Płock for a year or two, you do not need to take everything. Some of your furniture can stay in our Wrocław warehouse, and only what you need day to day goes to Płock. Details: storage.

In short: what you get

  • A free quote before any work begins, including one based on our volume calculator.
  • Transport in a single vehicle from our own fleet of 11, with no reloading.
  • Packing, furniture disassembly and reassembly.
  • A contract, VAT invoice and liability insurance up to PLN 500,000.

Płock – questions and answers

Which route do you take from Wrocław to Płock and how long does it take?

The S8, the A1 motorway and national road 60 via Gostynin. The drive takes about 4 hours.

My employer reimburses the cost of my move. Can you invoice the company?

Yes, we issue the VAT invoice to the company you name, and the scope of services is set out in the contract.

I live in Radziwie. Does crossing the bridge affect the price?

Usually not. We plan our arrival time to avoid the traffic on the bridges.

Do you cover Gostynin, Sierpc and Włocławek?

Yes, the whole Płock area and the neighbouring districts.

Will you carry furniture up to a tenth-floor flat in Podolszyce?

Yes. If a piece of furniture does not fit in the lift, we carry it up the stairs, and we include this in the quote beforehand.
