Moving in Tychy
Tychy is a city designed from scratch: wide avenues, greenery between the blocks and housing estates named after letters of the alphabet. For anyone moving from Tychy to Wrocław, that is good news – the planned layout makes access and parking easier. We carry out Tychy–Wrocław moves in both directions, and from Tychy we also move people to other regions of Poland and neighbouring countries.
The route: the A4 to Katowice and the S1 south
From Wrocław, we take the A4 motorway to Katowice, then the S1 expressway straight to Tychy. The alternative is to leave the A4 earlier and drive through Mikołów. The route is about 220 km, or just over two and a half hours' drive. Getting through Katowice at rush hour can take longer, so we plan to set off early in the morning or at times when traffic is lighter.
Lettered estates – what this means for your move
Between the 1950s and 1980s, old Tychy grew into a new town built for industrial workers. Each estate has its own letter: A and B are low-rise socialist realist buildings with spacious stairwells, C, D and E are 1960s blocks, and estates O, R, T, U, W and Z are large prefabricated buildings, often tall and with lifts. There is usually plenty of space between the blocks, and car parks are close to the entrances, which shortens the carrying time.
| Area | Housing | What we pay attention to |
|---|---|---|
| Estates A, B | socialist realism, 3–4 storeys, no lifts | high storeys, wide stairwells |
| Estates C, D, E, G, H | blocks from the 1960s–1970s | narrow stairwells, usually no lift |
| Estates K, M, N, O, P, R, T, U, W, Z | prefabricated blocks, high-rises | small lifts, booking with the building management |
| City centre and around Baczyński Square | commercial and residential buildings | paid parking zone, pedestrian street |
| Wartogłowiec, Czułów, Jaroszowice, Paprocany | detached houses and new estates | garages, gardens, longer packing |
Tychy, industry and employee moves
Tychy has large manufacturing plants and an economic zone, so many moves are linked to a change of job or a transfer to another site. This also applies to specialists moving abroad – for such jobs, we help organise transport to other European Union countries. You will find information about this on our international moving page. We describe relocating offices, machinery and plant equipment on our office relocation page.
A house by Lake Paprocany or a flat on an estate
Moving a house from Wartogłowiec or Czułów is on a completely different scale from a flat on estate U. In a house, you need to pack the garage, tools, bikes, garden furniture and the contents of the cellar, which often doubles the volume of the load. That is why, for houses, we suggest a packing day before the transport day. For flats in blocks, one day for everything is usually enough. You can get a rough count of your belongings with our volume calculator.

Moving in Tychy – questions
I live on estate A in a block with no lift. Is that a problem?
No, but the high storeys make carrying up and down take longer. We will allow for this in the crew size and the quote.
How long does a move from Tychy to Wrocław take?
We usually complete a flat in one day. We plan a house with a garage and full packing over two days.
Do you move belongings from Tychy to the Czech Republic or Germany?
Yes, we run regular trips to both countries, and in Germany we also have a warehouse in Frankfurt am Main.
Can you move the equipment of a small plant?
Yes. We quote for company and production relocations after a pre-move survey, with a schedule agreed together with the customer.
