Moving in Jelenia Góra
Jelenia Góra lies in the Jelenia Góra Valley, at the foot of the Karkonosze mountains, about 110 kilometres from Wrocław. The drive usually takes between an hour and a half and two hours – along the A4 motorway and then via Legnica and Jawor, or via Bolków on national road no. 3, which beyond Bolków already enters hilly terrain. A valley, a spa and mountain resorts
Jelenia Góra itself is very varied. The centre, with its market square surrounded by arcaded tenement buildings, means narrow streets and restricted traffic. Zabobrze is a large estate of prefabricated blocks, where the work is the same as on any housing estate – with or without a lift. Cieplice and Sobieszów have former spa villas and houses set among greenery. And just a dozen or so kilometres further on are Karpacz, Szklarska Poręba, Przesieka and Borowice – places where houses stand on steep slopes and access can be demanding.
Moving in the mountains – what to prepare for

- Winter: in the Karkonosze, snow can lie from November to April. The path to the house should be cleared, and we prepare the vehicle for winter conditions and bring mats.
- Narrow access roads: in many settlements a large vehicle can't turn round, so we come in a smaller one or transfer the belongings by the main road.
- Guesthouses and apartments: when moving a property that is let out, we set a date outside the tourist season.
