Moving in Łódź
Łódź lies in the middle of Poland, and for many people it is a stop on the way to or from Warsaw. For us, it is one of the shorter routes from Wrocław – about 220 km. Getting there: the S8 to the Róża junction, then the S14
We take the S8 expressway via Oleśnica, Kępno and Sieradz, and near Łask we switch to the S14, which follows the western bypass of Łódź to the city limits. The whole journey takes two and a half to three hours. This means we can usually complete a move of a two- or three-room flat from Łódź to Wrocław in one day – including packing, the drive and unloading.

Tenements with rear buildings
Śródmieście, the area around Piotrkowska Street and Stare Polesie are built in closed blocks: a front building, a well-like courtyard behind the gateway, and rear buildings that no vehicle can reach. We carry furniture through the gateway and across the courtyard, sometimes for several dozen metres. So when quoting, we ask not only about the floor, but also which building on the plot the flat is in.
Lofts in former factories
Flats in converted spinning mills have high ceilings, wide corridors and goods lifts, but also a reception desk that requires the move to be notified in advance and the hours for using the lift to be agreed.
Prefabricated housing estates
Widzew Wschód, Retkinia, Teofilów and Radogoszcz have four-storey blocks with no lift and high-rise blocks with cramped lifts. In the low blocks, it is all about muscle; in the tall ones, it is the size of the lift car.
Shared streets and roadworks
Many streets in central Łódź have been rebuilt as shared pedestrian-friendly spaces with limited parking. Before arriving, we check whether the vehicle can stop by the gateway and for how long.
Houses on the outskirts are a category of their own: Nowosolna and, beyond the city limits, Zgierz, Aleksandrów or Konstantynów. There is usually no shortage of space for the vehicle there, but there is also a garage, an attic, garden furniture and things collected over the years. We quote for such moves after a pre-move survey or a detailed conversation with photos, as it is easy to leave out half the load when describing it.
The paid parking zone in central Łódź
The city-centre zone covers the very centre and the surrounding blocks of tenement buildings. A moving vehicle can park there, but spaces are scarce, and unloading while double-parked blocks trams on some streets. Usually it is enough to agree courtyard access with the building manager in advance, or to reserve a few parking spaces for a short time.

No, but it does affect how long the job takes. Tell us the distance from the gateway to the entrance and the width of the passage – that way we can plan the right number of people.

For a typical flat, yes, as the drive takes about three hours. A large house or full packing is spread over two days.
