Moving in Nowy Sącz
The Sącz region is an area where simply getting to the house can be a challenge. We handle moving in Nowy Sącz on the route from and to Wrocław, as well as to towns and villages in the Sącz Basin and the Poprad valley. Before every such job, we check not only the address, but also the gradient of the road, the width of the little bridge over the stream and whether a lorry can turn round by the house.
The road from Wrocław to Nowy Sącz
On this route of about 370 km, the motorway ends at Brzesko. From there, we take national road 75 along the Dunajec valley, via Czchów and along Lake Rożnów. It is a beautiful but winding and in places narrow road through many villages, so the last 60 km take longer than the 270 km of motorway. The whole journey usually takes 4.5–5 hours. So we plan a house move over two days, and a flat move for one long day with an early start.
Mountains, streams and narrow access roads
In the town itself, things are simple: the Millenium, Gorzków, Wólki and Barskie estates are blocks of flats with car parks, and the centre has tenement buildings on narrow streets around the Market Square and a paid parking zone. It is a different story in districts and municipalities on the slopes – in Zawada, Poręba Mała, Chełmiec, Kamionka Wielka or Nawojowa. The houses there stand above the road, driveways are steep, and some local roads have no verge.
| Situation on site | How we deal with it |
|---|---|
| steep driveway, vehicle can't reach the house | unloading by the road and carrying with an extra person |
| narrow bridge or road with no passing place | a smaller vehicle or two runs |
| snow and ice from November | extra time and confirming road conditions the day before |
| house under construction, no hardstanding | storage of belongings until the house is finished |
Who moves between Nowy Sącz and Wrocław
For generations, people from the Sącz region have left to find work – in big cities and abroad – and then come back to build a house on family land. So we move both graduates relocating to Wrocław and families returning from Lower Silesia to the mountains. There are also moves for companies in the timber and construction sectors, which are strong in the region. In summer, there are also moves to holiday homes by Lake Rożnów, where families are spending more and more time.
